Among 300,000 Competitors from 71 Countries: Ahmed Guso is the best Young Innovator

In the competition of 300,000 contestants from 71 countries, who presented themselves with innovations and infomatic projects at the world competition held in Indonesia, high school student Ahmed Gušo from Gorazde won first place. It is a prestigious competition of young innovators from all over the world who present creative solutions to real problems through programming, robotics and modern technologies.

Since elementary school, Ahmed has achieved great success at European and international competitions of young innovators. In the capital of Indonesia, he presented himself with the Panda Solar Flor project, which enables the purification of polluted air on three levels.

“After those three main levels of filtration, when the polluted air passes through, its goal is not to replace nature, but to be an assistant to nature, to suppress air pollution through long-term work and to show the results as much as possible and to increase the level of green space”, says Ahmed Gušto, a student of Hasib Hadžović Goražde Technical High School.

As he says, Ahmed gained a broader picture of the problem of global pollution by talking to his peers from all over the world. The fact that young innovators still offer solutions to mitigate this problem is encouraging.

“I can say that the judges’ and other contestants’ impressions of this project are positive because they see great potential for our future. Air pollution is not a small thing that will just disappear. It is a problem that develops every day and needs to be combated in order to preserve the nature we have,” adds Gušo.

Ahmed’s departure to Indonesia, as well as the trip to the upcoming competition in London, was supported by the City of Goražde and the Government and the Ministry of Education BPK Goražde, as well as numerous companies operating in the city on the Drina.

“We have great children in our canton, and that is why our goal is to invest in and improve education and achieve the best possible results for our students,” states the Minister of Education BPK Goražde (Perspective) Adisa Alikadić-Herić.

Ahmed will soon travel to London for another world competition, where he will present his project of mini submarines that will have the function of purifying waste materials along the sea coast.
