A group of students from Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa, visited the headquarters of Radio Romania on Friday.

The South African teenagers connected with peers from the “Johannes Honterus” National College in Brașov, who are part of an educational exchange program. The initiative was coordinated by Mo Schlattner, a representative of the German Federal Office for Schools Abroad (ZfA).

During the visit, the students and their teachers explored the rich history and daily work of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation. They gained firsthand insight into the radio production process and discovered how public broadcasting serves to inform and educate the community. While touring the radio station, we sat down with the President Director General of Radio Romania, Robert C. Schwartz, for a brief discussion:

The itinerary included a tour of the Radio Concert Hall, broadcasting studios, and production areas. The guests also engaged in discussions with journalists from Radio Romania International’s German and English sections, as well as the German-language team of the Minorities Program:

Theresa von Saldern, a representative of the German Embassy in Bucharest, delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of Ambassador Angela Ganninger. The hosts were the President Director General of Radio Romania, Robert C. Schwartz, and the Director of the International Relations Department, Dan Șanta.
