PM Wale Assures Choiseul: “We Will Not Forget You”

PM Matthew Wale assures Choiseul and Western provinces of government support after Cyclone Maila

PRIME Minister Hon. Matthew Wale has assured the Choiseul Provincial Government that his administration remains committed to supporting the people of Choiseul during the recovery efforts.

The Prime Minister carries the same message also to Western province which he will visit tomorrow.

Speaking during a courtesy visit with the Choiseul Premier Hon. Harrison Ngosu Pitakaka and his Executive this afternoon, the Prime Minister said the government’s visit to Choiseul and Western Provinces was a clear demonstration of its commitment to stand with affected communities.

“We are pleased to be here to personally assure you that the government will not forget you,” Prime Minister Wale said.

He emphasized that the government will mobilize and reallocate resources to support communities impacted by Tropical Cyclone Maila, with a focus on restoring livelihoods.

“We will find the necessary resources to support affected communities. Our goal is to help you rebuild your livelihoods and return as close as possible to where you were before,” he said.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of national solidarity during times of crisis.

“When one part of our country is in need, we must all step in to assist,” he added.

Prime Minister Wale also commended former Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele and the GNUT government for their previous visit to the cyclone stricken areas.

The Choiseul Premier welcomed the Prime Minister’s visit, noting it came shortly after his election and demonstrated strong leadership and commitment.

“On behalf of my Executive and the people of Choiseul, we sincerely thank you for visiting. We have full trust in your leadership and in the GREAT Government’s commitment to supporting our people through this recovery phase,” the Premier said.
