The FNB Women’s Super League took place at the Julinho Athletic Stadium in Windhoek during the weekend. In a tightly contested match between Juninho Athletics Ladies FC and VPower Angels FC the first half score remained at a 0-0 draw.

“This season was challenging due to injuries and the loss of key players, but our young national team players gained valuable experience. Although we aimed to finish fourth or fifth, the setbacks affected our campaign. Going forward, we hope to combine the experience of the senior players with the energy of the younger players and come back stronger next season,” said Gaweseb.
Samuel Amuthitu assistant coach of VPower Angles FC said that his team struggled to create and convert enough chances. He also added that conceding from a set piece, which has been a recurring weakness throughout the season, ultimately costing them the game.
“We started with a good plan to assert our dominance and put the opposition under pressure through a high press, but unfortunately we did not create or convert enough chances. We ended up conceding the decisive goal, and once again our weakness in defending set-pieces cost us. With one game left, we are still hoping to push for a top-eight finish, although we currently sit in ninth place,” he said.
Joy Goses right back Julinho Athletic Ladies FC defender said the team was determined to secure three points and improve their position on the log.
She also highlights the challenges they faced, including fatigue, lost momentum, and frustration with refereeing decisions, while praising the team’s resilience in defending their lead under pressure.
“The main objective was to collect the three points and improve our goal difference as we are in the bottom half of the log. We followed the game plan well, although we lost momentum towards the end of the first half,” said Goses.
She further added, “In the second half, we came back with good energy, scored first, and fought hard to hold onto the lead despite pressure from the opponents searching for an equalizer”.
