Two Ministry of Health officers have appeared in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court accused of stealing more than K400,000 in government funds.
The accused, Friday Ndawa, 48, an accountant, and Richard Chomba, 43, a pharmacist, are charged with one count of theft by public servant contrary to Sections 272 and 277 of the Penal Code.
According to the allegation, Ndawa and Chomba, acting together, stole K414,270 cash between January 1 and December 30, 2021, in Lusaka.

Prosecutors say the money came into their possession by virtue of their employment at the Ministry of Health.
The matter came before Lusaka Magistrate Nthandose Sakala Chabala, where both accused pleaded not guilty.
The case has been adjourned to June 12, 2026, for commencement of trial.
