Trump claims major breakthrough in Iran conflict talks, says deal “Largely Finalized”

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced what he described as a significant breakthrough in efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Iran, saying that a broad agreement has been “largely negotiated” and is now approaching completion.

In a post on Truth Social on Saturday, Trump said he held what he called productive discussions with several regional leaders, including those of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain. According to his statement, these talks helped advance what he described as a near-final agreement involving Iran and multiple allied nations.

Trump also said he held a separate conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which he characterized as positive.

Agreement Details Still Unclear

While Trump claimed that the negotiations are now focused on finalizing remaining technical details, he did not provide specifics about the terms of the proposed agreement or confirm the formal participation of all listed countries.

He said the deal involves the United States, Iran, and several regional partners, but emphasized that final components are still being discussed and will be announced at a later stage.

The White House has not yet issued an official statement confirming the existence or status of such an agreement.

Strait of Hormuz Mention Raises Global Attention

One of the most notable elements of Trump’s statement was his reference to the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route through which a significant share of the world’s oil exports passes. Trump said that, under the proposed arrangement, the waterway would be opened.

Any move to stabilize or secure the Strait of Hormuz would likely be closely watched by energy-importing countries, including India, which depends heavily on crude oil supplies from the Gulf region.

Market and Security Implications

Analysts note that any de-escalation between Washington and Tehran could ease long-standing concerns over energy price volatility, maritime security risks, and potential disruptions to global supply chains.

However, given the absence of detailed terms and official confirmation from other involved governments, the announcement remains subject to verification.

Outlook

At present, it remains unclear when or whether a formal agreement will be signed, or what role each nation would play in implementation. Further updates are expected if diplomatic channels release additional details.
