Uttarakhand’s Manoj Sarkar Stadium appeared brimming with sporting fervor and national energy today. The grand inauguration of the 21st Cadet National Fencing Championship took place here today (May 23). More than 650 athletes from 28 states across the country are participating in this six-day national competition.
The 21st Cadet National Fencing Championship was inaugurated with a colorful ceremony on Saturday at the Shivalik Hall, located within the Manoj Sarkar Stadium in Rudrapur, dist. Udham Singh Nagar. This prestigious national-level competition is being organized by the Fencing Association of Uttarakhand under the guidance of the Fencing Association of India. The tournament is scheduled to be held from May 23 to May 28, during which young athletes from across the nation will showcase their talent and sporting prowess.
Over 650 fencers from 28 states of the country are participating in this championship. Throughout the competition, pool and direct elimination bouts will be contested across the Foil, Sabre, and Épée categories. These six-day-long contests promise to feature thrilling competition among the athletes. Through this national-level event, the city of Rudrapur is once again cementing its strong presence on the country’s sporting map.
The program commenced with cultural performances, wherein students from Delhi Public School, Rudrapur, captivated the audience with a magnificent classical dance presentation. The children’s performance created a special atmosphere of cultural grace and enthusiasm during the inaugural ceremony. The audience cheered on the performers with resounding applause. SP City Manoj Katyal attended the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest, while Devendra Singh Bisht and Harman Singh Grover were present as Guests of Honor.
