Mac-and-cheese lovers in Arkansas are about to get a whole lot happier. The state’s first Roni’s Mac Bar is opening on Saturday, May 30, in Little Rock’s SoMa district!
Roni’s Mac Bar, also known as “the viral mac & cheese place,” is a fast-casual comfort food chain that specializes in customizable macaroni and cheese and mac-and-cheese sandwiches.
You may be asking yourself, “How do you customize mac-and-cheese? Isn’t it just pasta and cheese?” And that’s a fair question, but the answer is no. Here’s how it works:
- Build the Base
- There are different types of noodles and different types of cheeses. This is when you pick your favorite combination of the two. Simple, right?
- Pick your Protein
- If we all just ate pasta and cheese every day, our health would be in the dump. You’ve gotta get your protein! This is when you can add meats like smoked brisket, pulled pork, bacon or grilled chicken.
- Time for Toppings
- Not everyone’s a meat lover! And those people still deserve to add a little something extra to their bowl. Heck, add the toppings on top of the meat if you want! Load up on veggies, jalapeños, crushed chips and more!
- Get Saucy
- Just when you thought you were done, there’s one more step. Add some sauce! Roni’s has plenty of sauces, like BBQ, hot honey, pesto and buffalo, to finish off the bowl.

The new restaurant will be located at 1220 S Main St in Little Rock. It will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
