Ole Smoky Distillery and Yee-Haw Brewing Co. opened their first joint location outside of Tennessee at 1214 Celebrity Circle in Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday, May 20.
Launched in 2010, Ole Smoky traces its roots back to the Smoky Mountains’ earliest settlers who produced moonshine. As the first federally licensed distillery in East Tennessee, Ole Smoky is now the most celebrated distillery in the world with over five million visitors annually and is also the top-selling and most-awarded moonshine and flavored whiskey brand in the world. To date, the brand has won over 500 awards.

Yee-Haw Brewing Co. was founded in 2015 in a historic railroad depot that was built in the late 1800s in Johnson City, TN. The company quickly expanded and now has multiple locations throughout Tennessee and another in Greenville, South Carolina.
At this new location, the distillery and brewing company occupy a combined 40,000 square-foot establishment with spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas that overlook the lake. In this laid-back environment, patrons can enjoy a beverage along with a hearty meal, such as the buffalo chicken sandwich with a side of mac and cheese, while listening to live music or watching a game on one of the largest TV screens in the area. Further, as a fun, interactive way to learn about the craftsmanship behind each pour, guests are invited to sample tasting flights of moonshine as well as distillery tours to see how it is produced.

General Manager Chris Sobota says the new facility seats 400 patrons and employs 150 staff members who run the distillery, the various bars, the kitchen, the front of the house and the merchandise shop that boasts an impressive “wall of moonshine,” where over 25 authentic varieties such as apple pie, blackberry, hunch punch, blue flame, orange and strawberry are available to purchase and take home. Additionally, customers can choose from 17 flavored whiskeys such as salty caramel, blackberry, mango habanero, salty watermelon, mint chocolate chip and strawberry banana cream. They can also pick up a pack of one of Yee-Haw’s beer, cider or seltzers as well.
