INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis EMS is celebrating National EMS Week through Saturday, the emergency medical services agency said in a news release issued Monday.
The celebration will recognizing the efforts of more than 300 first responders working on the frontlines of public safety and health care in Marion County. The week honors the significant contributions of the workers who provide prehospital medical care to residents.
This year’s observance touts the commitment of EMS personnel, who responded to 145,906 calls in 2025 and more than 49,000 calls to service in 2026 alone.
Indianapolis EMS also provides medical coverage for more than 500 special events in the area, including Sunday’s Indianapolis 500.
National EMS Week is recognized across the country in partnership with the National Association of EMTs.
