Critics ripped the White House this weekend after it shared a stylized mock poster depicting Donald Trump as the fictional British spy James Bond.
But the attempt at a 007-style makeover ― in which the president appeared with a silenced pistol and his slogan “Make America Great Again” in gold beneath ― didn’t exactly give social media users a thrill.
Instead, it was widely panned online.
The post appeared to riff on news that Amazon MGM Studios has begun auditions for the next Bond actor, following the departure of Daniel Craig. Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder, has faced accusations of cozying up to the Trump administration.
