Ruby Wallace Taylor

Leesville, SC – Mrs. Ruby Wallace Taylor, 65, of Leesville passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 14, 2026. She was born on September 20, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Ray Hampton and Joyce Blakely Wallace. Ruby earned her Master’s degree in education and was an elementary school teacher. She taught 1st grade education at Aiken Elementary and Chukker Creek Elementary School until her retirement after 29 years. She earned teacher of the year at both schools during her teaching career. Ruby was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma-Beta Delta Chapter, a society for women educators. She was a faithful member of Union Lutheran Church where she served in several capacities such as church council, taught Sunday school, and WELCA. Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Surviving are her husband, Randy Taylor; son, Brad Taylor (Lori); daughter, Jessica Taylor Nead (Alden); sisters, Donna Allison and Samantha McDaniel (Tommy); and grandchildren, Caroline Taylor, Savannah Taylor, Desmond Nead, and Lennon Nead. Ruby was predeceased by her brother, Lonnie Wallace.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Union Lutheran Church with the Rev. Emily Hartman-Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Lutheran Church, 4077 US-378, Leesville SC 29070.
