Wells girls lacrosse shuts down Waynflete

Caitlin Rooney scored six goals, Eva Talevi added four, and Wells earned a 13-5 win over Waynflete in a girls lacrosse game Friday in Portland.

Wells (8-1) also got goals from Vienna Cardinali, Jacy Brown and Payton Maxon. Warriors goalie Carys Ramsey made four saves.

The Warriors, tied for 10th in the Varsity Maine Top 10, have allowed just 37 goals through nine games.

Amara Redon netted two goals for Waynflete (3-5). Pippa Valdmanis, Lily Daly and Alex Leopold were the other goal scorers.

GREELY 6, YARMOUTH 3: Audrey Ingersoll and Molly Magoun both scored twice as the Rangers (7-2) extended their winning streak to seven games by defeating the Clippers (4-3) in Cumberland.

Makenna Seaver added a goal and an assist and Kelsey Crocker also scored for the No. 9 team in the Varsity Maine Top 10.

Yarmouth, ranked eighth in the Varsity Maine poll, got two goals from Vivienne Corriveau and one from Eleanor Weyenberg.

THORNTON ACADEMY 13, FALMOUTH 9: Oceanna LaMarre and Olivia Lamey each had three goals and an assist to lead the Trojans (7-1) past the Navigators (6-2) in Saco.

Olivia Sirois scored three goals, while Addie Lamey had two goals and two assists for Thornton, which is ranked sixth in the Varsity Maine Top 10. Sophia Sirois and Bella Jung also scored and Trojans goalie Sophia Auger made nine saves.

Elle Clark scored four goals, Sierra Zamer had two goals and three assists, and Izzie Camp contributed two goals and an assist for third-ranked Falmouth. Jane McPheeters also scored and Tessa Woodbury stopped eight shots.

BASEBALL

CONY 15, WATERVILLE 0: Drew Lindquist drove in three runs with a double and a single, and the Rams (7-2) cruised past the Panthers (3-6) in a five-inning Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference game in Waterville.

Lindquist also pitched the first three innings, allowing three hits and striking out six.

Anderson Noyes and Wyatt McKenney (RBI) also recorded a double and a single. Lance Theriault tripled, scored twice and had two RBI, and Liam Chamberlain doubled and brought home a run.

Oliver LeVan, Harper Hubbard, Mitchell Ouellette and Joseph Mayo singled for the Panthers.
