PN Leader Alex Borg has offered his support to the families evacuated from their homes in Naxxar following fears over structural instability at a major construction site.

“Home should be a place for security and peace of mind, not fear,” Borg said.

The PN leader was reacting after reports emerged that foundations and compacted earth at the site had reportedly shifted, raising concerns among workers and nearby residents over a possible collapse.

Authorities later issued a stop-work order at the site while investigations continue.

Borg said the affected families are now living through uncertainty and fear, adding that the situation should concern the entire Maltese public.

“All that they have worked for for years could end in nothing,” he said, stressing that Malta must place residents’ safety as its highest priority.
