Australia commits $100 million to Pacific Resilience Fund

Australia is pleased to be contributing $100 million to the Pacific Resilience Fund (PRF) during the Melanesian Ocean Summit in Papua New Guinea, says His Excellency Ewen McDonald, Australia’s Special Envoy for the Pacific and Regional Affairs.

The PRF, is established by the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), and it is a trust fund designed to support small-scale, community-led resilience projects that often struggle to secure predictable financing through existing mechanisms.
McDonald described the fund as a “landmark” initiative that will strengthen Pacific-led solutions to climate challenges.
