Nearly 4,000 attendees and 150 exhibitors and partners took part in the Eurocine 2026 international film industry trade show this weekend at the Hungexpo Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center.
At the first Eurocine Budapest 2026 trade fair—the fifth in the Eurocine series—everyone from production and post-production to the event and location services sector was represented, the organizers told MTI on Monday.

As the organizers noted,
participants were able to get hands-on experience with the latest equipment, test top-of-the-line cameras, lenses, lighting, and grip gear in real-time.
The pan-European forum also featured a wide range of studios, filming locations, production services, catering, education, the film labor market, and a wide range of specialized suppliers.

On the first day of the exhibition, the Filmreform2026 proposal package—aimed at revitalizing the Hungarian film industry—was presented. The two-day professional conference accompanying the exhibition focused on the most pressing issues of the present and the technologies of the future. In addition to the future of Hungarian film financing, the workshops and forums were dominated by topics such as production opportunities in Hungary and Central Europe, issues related to taxation and international co-production strategies, green and sustainable filmmaking techniques, the role of female creators in the modern film industry, and artificial intelligence in filmmaking. The speakers and moderators came from many parts of the world.
Eurocine Budapest also offered emerging filmmakers, students, and early-career professionals the opportunity to explore career paths and meet key industry figures. Up-and-coming talents were able to participate in roundtable discussions on various topics, and the educational content will remain available on the Eurocine Academy’s online platform even after the exhibition.
