Excise, Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said farmers need not plead with anyone to sell the paddy they cultivate, as the government is committed to procuring every grain at Minimum Support Price through procurement centres.
The minister reviewed paddy and maize procurement for the Yasangi season at Wanaparthy on Monday along with local MLAs and district officials. He directed authorities to ensure transparent procurement without causing losses to either farmers or rice millers.
He instructed officials to conduct quality checks and weighing at procurement centres itself and issue receipts to farmers immediately.
