Police investigate break-in at voter registration centre in Sanyang

Police in Sanyang are investigating a reported break-in and theft at a voter registration centre in Kombo South.

According to a police flash report, the incident occurred on Saturday, 10 May 2026, when an individual described by authorities as a suspected lunatic allegedly entered the registration office and stole several consumable registration materials, including blank voter registration cards.

Police said officers visited the scene shortly after the incident and launched an investigation.

Authorities further disclosed that most of the stolen materials have since been recovered.

The Gambia Police Force said the public will be updated as investigations continue.
