A Mechanic Falls resident died Saturday evening after a two-vehicle crash near Shaker and Game Farm roads in Gray, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Shanya “Shane” Pottle, 29, was transported to Maine Medical Center, where they died from injuries sustained in the crash. A second driver, Jean Rahilly, 70, of Bethel, was also taken to Maine Medical Center with minor injuries.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. when investigators said Rahilly’s 2024 Ford Maverick crossed the center line and struck Pottle’s 2010 Mazda sedan.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and the Gorham Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit are investigating. The Maine Warden Service assisted at the scene.
