PN Proposes Calming Rooms On Gozo Ferries To Support Neurodivergent Passengers

PN Leader Alex Borg has proposed introducing dedicated “Calming Rooms” on all Gozo Channel passenger vessels aimed at supporting children and individuals with anxiety and neurodivergent conditions.

Speaking during a conference organised by MEP Peter Agius, Borg said these spaces would be designed for those diagnosed with ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodivergence.

The aim is to make the Gozo Channel crossing more manageable for these passengers, while also supporting parents and guardians throughout the journey.

The proposal forms part of a wider plan by the PN, which includes scrapping the MV Nikolaos and investing in two new vessels, one for passengers and another for mercantile use.
