According to the entity’s president, André Gomes, these initiatives are taking place at a strategic moment for holiday planning in these markets, aiming to transform existing air connectivity into effective tourist demand.

As part of this strategy, the destination is participating in the ILTM Latin America luxury fair in São Paulo until 7 May and is reinforcing actions in Toronto and Boston, in partnership with SATA, to promote connections via Ponta Delgada.

The commercial offensive also includes a high-level meeting in New York, scheduled for 6 May, with United Airlines to consolidate the direct flight between Newark and Faro.

Simultaneously, the region is focusing on expanding accessibility by participating in the Routes Europe 2026 forum in Rimini, where it will explore new opportunities for growth in air travel offerings with international decision-makers.

The monthly agenda extends to high-value-added segments, with the promotion of the Algarve at the Private Luxury Forum in Croatia and at the IAGTO convention in Malaga, focused on the golf sector.

The destination will also debut at the Adventure Elevate Europe international adventure tourism event in Catalonia and will be present at IMEX Frankfurt to attract corporate events.

Additionally, the region will host approximately 70 international travel agents for direct contact with local hotel offerings and activities.
