From art exhibitions and live music to theatre premieres and new cinema releases, there is plenty on offer across Cyprus this week.

VISUAL ART

Nicosia, Hambis Printmaking Museum. The exhibition Mediterranean, featuring selected works from the collection of Andreas Nicolas, explores printmaking and historical events across the Mediterranean region. A guided tour by the collector himself will take place on the opening evening. The museum has published a special catalogue to accompany the exhibition. Opening night 7pm. MUSIC

Limassol, Ypsonas Municipal Theatre, 8pm. Free entry. Echoes Across Lands brings together soprano Eleni Charalambous and pianist Mariola Charitidou in a programme ranging from art song to opera, drawing on diverse European musical traditions. THEATRE

Nicosia, 11 Plutarchou Street, Old Nicosia. Open Arts presents Glass. Kill. Bluebeard. Imp. by Caryl Churchill, directed by Athena Kasiou, transforming a building in the Old City into a multilevel theatrical space. Performances: May 5, 6, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 30, 31 at 8pm. Limassol, ETHAL Theatre. ETHAL presents Matomwena Stefana, a bold adaptation of Federico Garcia Lorca’s Blood Wedding in the Cypriot dialect, directed by Achilleas Grammatikopoulos, in collaboration with Point To Contemporary Theater and Anyhow Theatre Ensemble.
