The Pentagon announced a directive from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to withdraw approximately 5,000 U.S. troops from Germany within six months to a year, according to reports on Saturday. The announcement came just two days after President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that the U.S. is “studying and reviewing” the possible reduction of troops. He later added Sunday that eventual cuts would likely be “a lot further” than 5,000. The German defense minister said the withdrawal decision was “foreseeable,” while a NATO spokesperson stated that the organization is “working with” Washington to clarifythe details of the
