Rio Rancho Fire and Rescue fight house fire with limited water supply

RIO RANCHO, N.M. – Rio Rancho Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire Saturday and worked to protect nearby property with limited water.

Crews responded at about 3:55 a.m. May 2 to reports of a residential structure fire in an automatic aid district of Sandoval County.

When firefighters got there, they found the home fully engulfed. Because of the fire conditions, crews moved into a defensive attack and fought the fire from the outside.

Water was limited in the area, so RRFR used the water they had. Sandoval County Fire Rescue offered help with water supply and support.

Firefighters got the fire under control, then stayed on scene to put out hot spots and make sure the fire was fully extinguished. Crews later turned the scene over to SCFD.

A dog that was first reported missing was later found.
