GCIL CHAIRMAN HAILS “WORLD-CLASS” TRANSFORMATION AT GOLD RIDGE

The Chairman of Gold Ridge Community Investment Limited (GCIL) and Director of Gold Ridge Mining Limited (GRML) has described recent developments at the Gold Ridge Mine as a major step toward achieving world-class standards.

Speaking during the commissioning of a new office complex at the mine site, Walton Naezon, praised the leadership of Wanguo Gold Group and GRML, particularly its Executive Chairman, Mr. Gao, for delivering on long-standing commitments to improve working conditions.

“This is a proud moment for all of us. For many years, our workers and engineering teams struggled with limited space and difficult working conditions. Today, we are witnessing the result of a promise fulfilled,” Mr. Naezon said.

He said the completion of the new facility marks a turning point in the development of the Gold Ridge Project, signalling a shift towards modern, internationally benchmarked operations.

“We are moving into a world-class operation. What we are seeing today reflects the standards and experience that Mr. Gao has brought from his operations overseas and applied here in Solomon Islands,” he said.

Mr. Naezon commended Mr. Gao for his leadership and reliability, noting that commitments made in the early years of the partnership are now being realized.

“When Mr. Gao makes a promise, he delivers. Years ago, he assured us that proper facilities would be built for our people, and today we are proud to see that commitment fulfilled,” he added.

He also acknowledged the contribution of Ms. Jinzhu Gao, describing her as a supportive and committed partner to both GCIL and the landowners of Gold Ridge.

The GCIL Chairman highlighted the historical significance of the development, noting that the new facility represents a major transition from the original infrastructure established during the Ross Mining era in 1996.

“After nearly 30 years, we are now moving from the old structures into a modern, purpose-built office facility. This is a clear sign of progress and transformation,” he said.

Mr. Naezon further revealed that the company has committed to extending similar developments to landowner associations.

“We have been assured that new office buildings will also be constructed for the Landowner Associations, and we look forward to seeing that commitment realized,” he said.

Calling on landowners and surrounding communities to continue supporting the project, Mr. Naezon emphasized the broader economic importance of the mine.

“This project contributes significantly to the national economy and provides opportunities for our people. It is important that we continue to support its growth and success,” he said.

He also acknowledged individuals who have been part of the project since its early days, including long-serving staff and partners who supported the transition into the current phase of operations.

Mr. Naezon concluded by expressing confidence in the company’s leadership and future direction.

“We are moving forward. We are moving towards world-class standards. And together, we will continue to grow,” he said.
