CUSA releases revised football slate

Conference USA has released a revised football schedule for the 2026 season following the recent settlement agreement between the league and Louisiana Tech.
Louisiana Tech will exit CUSA to join the Sun Belt Conference this summer after after agreeing to a settlement to leave a year early. The 2026 CUSA alignment will feature 10 teams: Delaware, FIU, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Liberty, Middle Tennessee, Missouri State, New Mexico State, Sam Houston and Western Kentucky.
WKU will now open CUSA play on Oct. 1 at New Mexico State. The Hilltoppers will follow with October “Weekday CUSA” games at home against Missouri State on Oct. 8, at Sam Houston on Oct. 14, and at home against Delaware on Oct. 27.
WKU’s November slate will start on Nov. 7 at Middle Tennessee. The Hilltoppers will host Jax State on Nov. 14 before traveling to Liberty for a game on Nov. 21. The Hilltoppers will close the regular season at home against Kennesaw State on Nov. 28.
Prior to the CUSA slate, WKU will open the season at Nevada on Sept. 5 before games at Georgia on Sept. 12 and at Indiana on Sept. 19. WKU will host Mercyhurst for the home opener on Sept. 26.
