Clifford Chance has appointed Marc Mehlen as Managing Partner of its Luxembourg office, effective 1 May.

Mehlen, who has been with Clifford Chance since 2000 and became a partner in 2007, is a leading adviser in structured debt, private credit, and restructuring transactions.

His appointment marks a continuation of internal leadership succession within the firm’s Luxembourg practice, the firm said.

He succeeds Katia Gauzès, who the firm has credited for reinforcing the company’s client engagement and expanding its international reach during her tenure.

Mehlen said his focus is on maintaining the team’s strong positioning across Luxembourg and international markets in an increasingly complex environment.
