Special Session of Fono awaits verification of a quorum | Talanei
Governor Pula’ali’i Nikolao Pula issued a call for a special session of the 39th Legislature on Monday.
The special session was to begin Wednesday and last ten days.
However based on advice of the Fono leaders the special session is being delayed pending confirmation of whether there will be enough lawmakers on island to form a quorum.
The Governor listed 5 items to be reviewed during the special session.
- Appropriation for Employer Contributions to the American Samoa Government Employees Retirement Fund.
- Modernization of monetary thresholds for the criminal code
- Moratorium on Immigration numerical exceptions
- Department of Public Works funding for road and infrastructure maintenance
- ASG Supplemental Budget for Fiscal Year 2026.
