Browne Says He Can ‘Sit With Any Leader’ as He Dismisses Pringle’s Readiness for Office

Prime Minister Gaston Browne delivered a sharp personal and political attack on opposition leader Jamale Pringle, arguing that he lacks the competence to represent Antigua and Barbuda on the global stage.

Speaking during a campaign address, Browne framed the upcoming election as a choice between experienced leadership and what he described as unqualified alternatives.

“In these uncertain global times, the future of Antigua and Barbuda cannot be left to chance,” Browne said.

He went further, warning that the country “certainly should not be left to cannibalistic failures, underachievers, losers, and laggards.”

Browne argued that leadership requires international competence, calling for “a government that is tried, tested, and proven… a government that understands the world.”

He said such leadership must include individuals “with the competence to sit with any president or prime minister in the world.”

Highlighting his own experience, Browne told supporters, “I can sit with King Charles. I can sit with Trump. I can sit with any leader on this planet and to represent this country with distinction.”

He then directly contrasted himself with Pringle, stating, “Pringle cannot even sit with local leaders, much less regional leaders.”
