Bhanu Prakash Reddy, a member of the TTD Board, has filed a defamation suit against actor Prakash Raj, seeking ₹100 crore in damages. The lawsuit alleges that Prakash Raj made controversial comments about Lord Rama and Lord Lakshmana, which hurt Hindu sentiments.
An advocate representing Bhanu Prakash issued a legal notice to Prakash Raj, demanding a public apology within one week. Bhanu Prakash condemned the actor’s remarks, calling them derogatory and offensive to Hindus.
The controversy arose from remarks made by Prakash Raj at a private event, where he claimed that Rama and Lakshmana were migrant labourers from North India. He further alleged that they had stolen fruits from Ravana’s fields, who he said was from the South.
Hindu organisations have strongly condemned Prakash Raj’s characterisation of Rama and Lakshmana, expressing outrage at what they termed as disrespectful and inappropriate comments.
