A person was taken into custody, then released without charges after a shooting Tuesday morning in North Little Rock that wounded a woman, police said.
Officers responded around 7:05 a.m. to a report of a shooting near the intersection of Pike Avenue and Pershing Boulevard and found a 38-year-old woman, who wasn’t named in a North Little Rock police news release, shot inside a vehicle.
Investigators will complete their case file on the shooting and submit it to the Pulaski County prosecutor’s office for a decision whether criminal charges are warranted, the release states.
Police earlier on Tuesday took the person of interest into custody at the scene. The release also doesn’t identify the person of interest.
The victim, who was taken to an area hospital in criminal condition, is still being treated for her wounds, the release states.
