Franklin Arias, Nate Baez lift Sea Dogs past Fisher Cats

Franklin Arias remained red hot and Nate Baez drove in the winning run to lift the Portland Sea Dogs to a 2-1 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in an Eastern League game Saturday at Hadlock Field in Portland.

Arias, the Red Sox’s No. 2 rated prospect, went 3 for 4 and scored a run. He is 9 for 16 (.588) in six games for Portland this season.

Marvin Alcantara hit an RBI double in the fifth inning to tie the game for Portland. Baez followed with sacrifice fly to give the Sea Dogs (4-3) their third straight win.

New Hampshire took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Ismael Munguia.

John Holobetz pitched four innings, allowing one run on three hits for Portland. He struck out nine and walked two. Jorge Juan pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.
