The U.S. Supreme Court finding that a ban on conversion therapy flouts the First Amendment right to free speech completely misses the point (“Supreme Court ruling complicates Cuyahoga County’s ban,“ April 4). Nobody objects to conversion therapists babbling their ignorant nonsense. The affront to freedom lies in the imprisonment of children for the purpose of subjugating them to such reprehensible treatment.
It’s the job of all adults to protect children. The Supreme Court is busy splitting irrelevant legal hairs while kids are being abused by their families and charlatan “therapists.” The eight justices who supported this March 31 ruling should be ashamed — talk about mistaking the letter of the law for its spirit!
