 Edna Martin

A graveside service for Edna Bell Skipper Martin will be held March 27 at 3 p.m. in Pleasant Union Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Johnson and the Rev. Ragsdale Allsbrook officiating.

Daughter of the late Murray and Emma Skipper of Dog Bluff, Edna, lovingly known as “Nan”, passed away peacefully at the age of 91, surrounded by the love of her family. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan “Jr” Martin; and her son, Terry Martin, as well as her siblings. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Edna was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from loving Jesus and her family. She was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Kathy, and watching her great-grandchildren play outside while she was doing crossword puzzles.

Alongside her beloved husband, Edna established Cool Springs Farm Center in 1978, where she worked faithfully and took pride in serving the people in her community. She leaves a legacy to all who had the gift of being loved by her. Together, she and Junior built not only a business, but a life rooted in hard work, love and commitment.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Kathy Morris (Matt); her grandchildren, Nathan Skipper (Renee) and Samantha Bensfield (Michael); and eight great-grandchildren, Isabel, Kate, Margaret, Mary Caroline, Lila, Adeline, Jack and Eleanor, who were the light of her life, as well as other special family members and friends.

Though she will be deeply missed, her life serves as a beautiful reminder of what it means to love fully and live faithfully.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.  Please sign an online guestbook at www.johnsonfuneralhomeaynor.com

Johnson Funeral Home of 290 Ninth Ave., Aynor, is serving the family.  Call (843) 358-5800.
