Saint Lucia’s team for the CARIFTA Games in Grenada has received $7,471.48 in financial support from the Saint Lucia Olympic Committee (SLOC). According to a SLOC press release, the committee distributed $143,863.36 to 10 member associations for the year, covering affiliation fees, coaching programmes, competition and training.
The Saint Lucia Athletics Association will send a 12-member team to the CARIFTA Games at the Kirani James Stadium in St George’s, Grenada, including returning medallists Naya Jules, Denzel Phillips and Destinee Cenac.
The SLOC release made no mention of support for Saint Lucia’s 12-member team at the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships in Martinique, which takes place the same weekend.
The largest allocation announced was for table tennis. The Saint Lucia Table Tennis Association received $44,877.42: $13,049 for equipment, $26,828.42 to participate in the Central American and Caribbean Games Qualifiers in April, and $5,000 for the Pan Am Sports coaching programme.

Another significant amount, $26,350, went to the Saint Lucia National Netball Association: $5,000 for membership dues and subscriptions, and $21,350 to participate in the Jean Pierre Under-16 Tournament in Trinidad and Tobago from April 11-17.
The Saint Lucia Boxing Association received $24,632.49, including $5,421.25 for the Caribbean Trophee Champs in Martinique, $14,211.24 for a training camp in Brazil in April, and $5,000 for the Pan Am Sports coaching programme.
The Saint Lucia Cycling Association was handed $12,531.97: $9,000 for airfares to Colombia to participate in the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games Qualifiers, and $3,531.97 for bike charges for the Pan American Championships.
The Saint Lucia Volleyball Association got $5,000 to pay international affiliation dues for 2026, and $5,000 for the Pan Am Sports coaching programme.
The Saint Lucia Bodybuilding and Fitness Association was awarded $5,000 – $2,445.21 for Caribbean Regional Anti-Doping Organisation kits for an event held in 2025, and $2,554.79 for IFBB and CAC fees for 2026.
The Saint Lucia Life Saving Association took in $5,000 to pay international affiliation dues for 2026. The Saint Lucia Rugby Football Union and Saint Lucia Weightlifting Association each got $4,000 for the Pan Am Sports coaching programme.
The release from the SLOC stated that the president, Alfred Emmanuel, expressed the organisation’s commitment to supporting “sporting initiatives that redound to the betterment of sports on the island”. It closed by noting that “with such support come high expectations”.
