GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — A Fishers man died late Tuesday night after being hit by a car as he was crossing a county road in Hancock County.
A release from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened around 10 p.m.
Jaden Pelton, 25, was crossing County Road 300 North when he was struck by a Hyundai Sonata. Detectives say the Sonata may have been passing another vehicle when it hit Pelton.
Deputies say Pelton died at the scene.
The driver, a 19-year-old from Greenfield, was not harmed. The driver stayed on the scene, to a hospital for a blood draw, which is standard in Indiana when there is a fatal crash.
Drugs and alcohol are not thought to be a factor in the crash.
