HUNTER, N.D. – Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) hosted Google for an Online Safety Roadshow at Northern Cass School, speaking with 250 students during an interactive assembly about responsible technology use on Monday, March 23rd.
The roadshow is based on the Be Internet Awesome curriculum, which focuses on five tips for staying safe and being smart online:
- Share content with care
- Don’t fall for fake online scams
- Secure your information with strong passwords
- Be kind to others online
- When in doubt, talk it out with a trusted adult
“Today’s students are growing up in an increasingly digital world, and they need the tools to navigate it safely,” Fedorchak said. “I appreciate Google bringing the Online Safety Roadshow to North Dakota and helping equip students with practical skills to protect themselves online. We can’t emphasize the importance of treating others with respect and kindness enough, and I’m glad that is a core part of this program.”
