Zuwara  – The Municipality of Zuwara has announced its intensive monitoring of the ongoing situation involving a distressed Russian vessel off the Libyan coast. According to the latest updates, the ship is currently drifting toward the northwest and is positioned approximately 65 kilometers away from the shoreline. The municipality confirmed that it is in constant communication with the operations room, tracking the situation in real-time to ensure the safety of citizens and to mitigate any potential environmental or navigational risks.

In a coordinated response to secure the tanker, a significant number of naval units have been deployed to the site. These include vessels from oil companies and fields, the Libyan Ports Company, and units from the Coast Guard and the Ministry of Defense. These combined forces are working to gain control of the vessel and implement the necessary technical and precautionary measures to stabilize the situation.
