BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao expressed confidence that the Modi government is taking decisive steps to confront global challenges and assured the public that there is “no shortage” of domestic LPG or fuel in the country, even under the present circumstances.

Mr. Rao was speaking at the BJP State office after participating in the Ugadi celebrations marking the advent of the ‘Sri Parabhava Nama Samvatsara’.

On the occasion, a ‘Panchanga Shravanam’ (almanac reading) programme was organised.

The event was attended by Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, organisational general secretary Chandrashekhar Tiwari, along with several senior leaders and party workers.

He pointed out that gas prices in G20 countries have risen by 20% to 50%. However, owing to the “astute diplomatic” leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, fuel prices in India have remained stable. He said there is no shortage of domestic LPG anywhere in the country, and that the “minor” 30%–40% shortfall in commercial gas is expected to be resolved shortly with the arrival of imported vessels carrying the commodity.

The BJP leader further stated that large LPG vessels carrying 92,700 metric tonnes have already safely reached India, and the gas has entered the supply chain through various ports. He reassured the public that there is no cause for concern. Anticipating international tensions well in advance, the Centre has secured approximately 5.33 million metric tonnes of crude oil in Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR) to meet emergency requirements, he said.

Extending festival greetings to the people of Telangana and BJP cadres, Mr. Rao said he hoped the New Year would bring peace, prosperity, and development to all.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy also extended Ugadi greetings and said that the term ‘Parabhava’ “does not apply to us or to our nation,” but is meant only for “enemies and anti‑national forces.” Expressing hope for good rainfall and abundant agricultural produce, he said the country possesses the strength and resilience to overcome challenges.
