On Friday, March 20, active military personnel, veterans, and first responders receive free admission in honor of their service.

$1,000 Fishing Challenge Official Rules:
- Registration Required: You must register to participate.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Event Start: Fishing begins Saturday, March 21 at 12:00 p.m.
- Event Ends: Fishing ends Sunday, March 22 at 3:00 p.m.
- Catch a tagged fish for your chance at $1,000 cash or many other great prizes.
- Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at 4:00 p.m. Sunday.

In addition to outdoor icon Jimmy Houston, rub shoulders with other top fishing pros. Snap a photo. Hear the stories. Talk fishing all week.
Dogs are Welcome
Retriever competitions will take place throughout the show, so attendees are invited to bring their dogs to take part or to just watch.
Family Fun That Hooks Everyone
This isn’t just a show – it’s an experience. The fun and active Kid’s Zone is perfect for families.
- STEM activities with Louisiana Educators will be at the show on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- The Harry Hurst Wetland Watchers will be there on Sunday from 10:30 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. Kids and adults can view and touch baby alligators, snakes, and other reptiles through a unique educational experience.
Other highlights include a free fishing tournament for kids Saturday morning, inflatables, hands-on demos and interactive exhibits.

The Louisiana Sportsman Show will be held at the St. John the Baptist Community Center and Thomas F. Daley Memorial Park on Highway 51.

- Friday, Noon–7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
