A 40-year-old man was killed in a stabbing at a Waikiki apartment Monday evening, and a 16-year-old suspect has been arrested on a murder charge, according to police.
Officers responded shortly after 6:15 p.m. to an apartment on Pau Street, where they found the victim unresponsive, police said. The man was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said its crews co-responded and found the victim with multiple wounds and no signs of life, assisting with the death pronouncement.
Police said Homicide Detail detectives identified a 16-year-old boy as the suspect. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder after turning himself in.
Investigators said the same suspect is also linked to a separate attempted second-degree murder case in Makiki involving a 71-year-old man.
Police initially reported the suspect as 17 years old, but later clarified he is 16.
