YARMOUTH – Tracy Kane Hastings, 99, passed away peacefully Friday March 6, 2026 at Bay Square Assisted Living in Yarmouth.

He was born Aug. 4, 1926 to Harold and Gertrude Hastings in Detroit, Mich. where he grew up. He was in the Navy for several years at Great Lakes Naval Station, leaving active duty in 1946. He received a business degree from Miami University, Ohio, and a master’s degree in international business from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona. He married his wife, Leslie Lee Hulbert Aug. 20, 1948 in Grosse Pointe, Mich.

They spent many years in Latin America, working first for Firestone and S.C. Johnson & Sons. They lived in Panama, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico. Two children were born in Panama and one in Venezuela. In 1968, they moved to Johnson’s headquarters in Racine, Wis. Tracy still spent much of his time traveling throughout Latin America for business. His last two years of work were in Puerto Rico.

He retired in 1981 and he and his wife moved to Maine. They spent 17 enjoyable years in Jefferson, and many more years in Belfast at Penobscot Shores retirement community. Sadly, Lee died in 2013.

In 2015, he met his new love, Nancy O’Brien, and in 2022 they moved to Stroudwater Lodge Assisted Living near Portland. After losing Nan in 2024, Tracy moved to Bay Square Assisted Living in Yarmouth where he was well taken care of until his passing.

He is survived by his children, Andrea Solomon, Kenneth Hastings, Celeste Hastings; grandchildren Chris and Bryan Solomon, Alex Hastings; great-grandchildren Eric Solomon and Oliver Hastings; close friends Lori Donovan, Mark, and Rob Hall.
