HOT SPRINGS — A parolee is facing multiple felony charges, including manslaughter, after police say he fled from Hot Springs officers Thursday evening and caused a two-vehicle wreck that led to the deaths of two people and injuries to two others.

Lee Amos Smith, 50, of Hot Springs was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit following the wreck and ultimately charged with two counts of manslaughter, felony fleeing and leaving the scene of an accident with injury or death, each punishable by up to 20 years in prison; theft by receiving, punishable by up to 10 years; three counts of first-degree criminal mischief, punishable by up to six years, and two misdemeanor counts of third-degree battery.

Smith, who also had a felony warrant for a parole violation and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear, was being held on zero bond and was set to appear Friday in Garland County District Court.
