Murphy USA Inc.’s former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Clyde earned $11.76 million in 2025, or 60 times the median wage of a store employee.

Clyde’s base salary of $1.37 million was augmented by $6.4 million in stock awards, according to a recent government filing.

The median annual pay of a store employee in 2025 was $19,571. The company’s median employee works part time. This disclosure is required by law.

Clyde retired effective Dec. 31 and was replaced by Mindy West.

The El Dorado-based gas station and convenience store chain released the figures in its annual proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

West, who in 2025 was Murphy USA’s president and chief operating officer, earned $4.4 million.

Chris Click, executive vice president of strategy, growth and innovation, earned $2.1 million.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette follows a formula developed by The Associated Press that reflects amounts identified in proxy statements that are actually paid to executives. It excludes changes in pension value and deferred compensation earnings.

Murphy USA is scheduled to hold its annual meeting at 8 a.m. May 7 in El Dorado.
