Three drivers die in three state crashes

Three people were killed in as many crashes on Arkansas roads from Monday to Wednesday, according to preliminary police reports.

On Monday, Paul Clarke, 61, of St. Simons Island, Ga. was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 in Lonoke, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.

Clarke was driving a 2022 Toyota Tacoma east around the 172 mile-marker at 5:55 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, the report says.

Around 11:56 p.m. Monday, Brett Springfield, 29, of Alexander was killed in a head-on collision with a tractor trailer on I-40 in Mayflower, a report from the state police says.

Springfield was driving a Toyota RAV4 east in the westbound lanes when he struck a 2020 Freightliner headed west, the report says.

On Wednesday, Philip Reed, 57, of Fayetteville was killed in a single vehicle crash on Interstate 49 in Lowell, a report from state police says.

Reed was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram south at 6:16 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and hit the median wall, the report says.
