Rico is making a preliminary visit to the country ahead of the General Elections on April 12.

“The President stressed that the transitional government has been providing all necessary support to national electoral authorities so as to guarantee the conditions for free and transparent elections, without any undue interference, in line with international standards,” the Presidential Office stated on X.

Likewise, the Head of State underscored his commitment to guaranteeing respect for the will of the people in next April’s General Elections.

The top official welcomed the acceptance of Peru’s invitation to deploy the OAS Electoral Observation Mission.

This meeting took place at the Government Palace in Lima.
