MBABANE – The Eswatini Water and Agricultural Development Enterprise (EWADE) has taken a significant step towards strengthening internal systems by hosting a procurement planning training session for its staff in Eswatini.
The training, which brings together employees from various departments within the organisation, aims to improve efficiency and strengthen procurement processes through better planning and the use of modern tools.
According to the organisation, the session introduces an improved Procurement Plan Tool designed to enhance procurement tracking and ensure that all procurement activities align with the organisation’s standard operating procedures and tender timelines. The training is being facilitated by procurement specialists from Zeal Procurement & Supply Chain Limited.
EWADE said the initiative follows a call by the organisation’s leadership to strengthen internal systems and maximise the use of tools that improve organisational efficiency.
As part of the programme, selected Procurement Plan Champions from different departments are being trained to support their respective teams in developing Annual Procurement Plans. These champions will assist departments in ensuring that procurement activities are properly planned, compliant with established procedures, and implemented effectively.
Officials said strengthening procurement planning is essential for organisations involved in development programmes, as it promotes transparency, accountability and effective use of resources.
Through the training, EWADE expects to improve planning discipline across departments while ensuring that procurement processes support the timely implementation of projects.
The organisation noted that initiatives such as this play a key role in promoting good governance and strengthening institutional capacity.
EWADE continues to prioritise the improvement of internal systems as part of its broader efforts to enhance the delivery of programmes that support agricultural and water development in Eswatini.
