Prayagraj: A 21-year-old BTech student was arrested by Kaushambi police on Wednesday for allegedly murdering his grandfather over a dispute related to land, police said. They said Nitin Kumar of Rampur Dhamava (Saini) axed his grandfather, Babulal, to death after the latter refused to sell a piece of land. The accused also admitted that he was mounting pressure on his grandfather for the past couple of days to sell the land for money. On March 7, he allegedly killed Babulal with the help of an axe and iron rod. Her grandmother, Gulzara Devi, informed the Saini police following which registered an FIR and formed two teams to arrest Nitin. Officers said Nitin had returned home about a fortnight ago after discontinuing his BTech studies at a private institute in Gautam Budh Nagar.
