Summer class batch 1 on space technology launched for basic education level

Students at the first batch of summer class on basic space technology.

The first batch of summer class on basic space technology was conducted featuring more than 200 students from the basic education level.

Under the leadership by up to five trainers from the space agency, the class has 207 students of Grade 9, 10 and 11, based at No.2 Basic Education High School in Dagon Township, from 9:00am to 12:00pm. The duration is four weeks from 9 March to 3 April.

It aims to help the country’s human resource development on space, encourage young students to have interests and ambitions in astronomy and build the foundation for continue learning about space science and technology. It is being jointly organized by the Yangon Region Government, the Myanmar Space Agency and the Ministry of Education.

The basic education-level space art, cartoon, and poster competition, aimed to encourage next generations to have interest in space science and technology and inspire their science ideas developed from their artistic skills, was jointly organized by the Yangon Region government, the Myanmar Space Agency, and the Space Museum (Yangon) from 27 February to 1 March at the Space Museum, Yangon within the People’s Square, and it caught about 6000 students.

The Space Museum, Yangon was open to the public on 30 November after the former Planetarium being renovated.
