Givi Mikanadze reviews unified National Exam Registration Process

Under the leadership of Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth Givi Mikanadze, a working meeting on the registration process of unified national exams was held.

According to Givi Mikanadze’s statement, for the first time in Georgia, by the decision of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, those entrants registered in the Unified National Examinations will have the opportunity to study on a vocational education program, who will choose vocational education programs along with academic programs.

Entrants under the Unified National Examinations will have the opportunity to enroll in vocational education programs without additional selection process, based on the assessment received in the relevant subject.

For enrollment it will be necessary to submit a subject determined according to the relevant professional qualification. In particular, if an entrant passes mathematics in the uniform national exams, he/she can choose any professional education program, which prerequisite for enrollment is mathematics exam. Detailed information will be fully reflected in the enrollment notice, which will be published in early April.

To be enrolled in a vocational education program, an entrant must exceed more than half the minimum competence limit set for a relevant subject in the Unified National Examination.

The vocational education programs selected for the Unified National Examinations will be diverse and include in-demand fields such as information, tourism, services, medicine, construction and more. The number of vacancies announced will exceed 10,000 and educational institutions implementing public and private vocational education programs will be involved in the admission process.

In addition to the vocational education programs offered to students, which are an additional way to enroll in vocational programs, admission to vocational education programs will traditionally be announced twice this year – in the spring and fall.
